I have been watching the minicats growing with huge amounts of interest. OK, so the interest has been in any left over food first, then the minicats. Flaire, like our Mother Gracie, always leaves that 'one mouthfull for later'. - MY LATER! Anyway, back to those minicats. They are starting to walk, really getting up a pace and I believe that Lionel, the boy kitten, named after the great singer Mr Richie himself is learning to truck! Those of us in the know reckon he will soon be saying 'hello' and 'dancing on the ceiling', 'all night long'. ::giggles:: I could go on, but that would be too 'easy'. Lionel is the cutest boy ever, he is muscular already and has these very soulful eyes, no punn I promise. He stares into your eyes and you drift off into his world for a few moments. A world of milky and love.
Elly, the one with the big belly and ears, Elly-Pants or Elly-Belly, you decide! Well, she really has the walking off to a fine art. Tail up like a dodgem car trussed to the overhead cable zipping this way and that with an out of control driver she bumps and veers into everything, crashing into her sister and they blend and become one and are barely distinguishable at this stage rolling around and trying to bite each others tiny paws. Elly has had a massive growing of her gigantic ears and for 3 days her left ear couldn't catch up with the right and it flopped over whilst all the strength went into growing her whiskers which seemingly grew and grew over and tickled her tiny eye in the night. Momma found her with a squinty eye and a floppy earflap. She looked so hillarious. We tried not to laugh at her, she is the sensitive one, so Momma kissed her all over instead and trimmed her newly sprouted eyebrows. Oh how Elly yelled!
Tilly is going to be ours, I like her, she is funny already and learned yesterday to put her ears back and run like crazy, ok, stumble in forward momentum headlong into ManSlave's waiting paw. She then flopps on her back and has her tummy tickled, she opens her mouth as if laughing and crying for it to stop. She is going to be a biter, I can tell! Tilly likes to move super fast and tail stuck up high, she races in her stumbling gate hither and thither. Think we all have our work cut out with this one - Gonna be super quick.
Just like TS Eliot's excerpt above, about the naming of cats, Momma says it is most important and we can all have many names to go by. Lionel is named after the great King Richard the first - The Lion heart. His new family have called him Lionel Richie, so lots of unusual connections there too with the naming as Lionel the kittens Dad is Barry White! It is all so funny. Barry white is also a French boy so Momma said they all had to have French names or connections.
Elly is currently short for Queen Elanor of Aquitaine. She will be going over to Holland to join a well known cattery over there. I am sure as she grows her new family will give her a fitting name. But for now Elly suits her because of those big ears!
Tilly was helpfully named by Mr.Zeus's owner Mrs R. Momma wanted to call the next lady cat after Queen Matilda - lady of the English who exiled to France, but recently there was a Matilda Devon Rex on the show bench so Momma thought of calling her Matti. Mrs R said it was too boy like and that this sweet little kitten was no tomboy like me and that Tilly was a softer name for her. That was settled, Tilly rolled over and over at the announcement of her name. It suits her perfectly and she will be a great queen along with us all.
So you see names are ever so important and everyone has to have a name to decide who they are going to grow into. They all have their names called to them and told how very special and unique they all are with having a very special Daddy and that these will be the only offspring ever to be produced so they are more than important to the great grand scheme of things and with the all magical ZERO Coefficiency for 12 generations it makes this union ever more ineffable.
