Midweek, Tyga was playing with my orange Purrday Wiggly Worm, he was nothing more than a few inches of tail left and as she played hard, she bit down and Momma tugged and down the hatch he went, this was 9pm at night. Then the sickness began at 2am and continued until mid morning, but only really a dry hacking with a bit of food. After she ate breakfast we thought that was it until midday when she brought the lot up during an online focus meeting with Agria insurance. Right after the meeting, Momma rang the vet and they took her in and looked at a whole wormie for comparison. It wasn't going to be seen on an Xray, so she was given omeprazole to settle the irritation in her tummy and we were to wait for Wormie to reappear from the bottom end! That took two long days and last night it appeared with a flourish.
On Thursday, Lillibet went to see Vet Tudor and after her examination he suggested that she find a new home to stop her stressing so much and pulling all her fur out. It has been terribly bad recently and although she chooses to stay lots in the office, she is still flicking and jumping, chewing and licking crazily despite the medication. SO the plan is to reduce the Gabapentin and keep the Tryptophan going. He was quite adamant about trying to find her a new home without any other cats she can't cope with. That's going to be a challenge. She loves Faith of course and they spend all their time together, so Momma rang her pal Roni who runs a Healing Sanctuary in Warwickshire. She had lost her wonderful boy Disco a while back and was contemplating having a cat again so has offered to let Lillibet & Faith go for a rest-bite holiday. This will be OK for Lillibet but Faith is a bit of a princess and may not do as well as Lillibet who was very busy and active the second she arrived. The house feels very odd with out them and we can at least find out what Lillibet is like away from the stress of Maystar HQ.
Flaire is still on her Hollibobs too and will come home next weekend and hope her boyfriend has done the deed now? She has been quite the little diva, yelling for weeks until she arrived there and went shtum! At least she hasn't had the dreaded Pyometra and she either was mated on the first few days and no one saw anything or she is now knocked off call... who knows.
Magnus, Robyn and SaBreena are outside in all weathers and enjoy their freedom racing about watching squirrels and pigeons. The darn Horrible Horraces have stolen even more gravel and slate now leaving the ground in the communal area bare and the kids are coming in with muddy feet and traipsing them all over windowsills and paintwork. Ikon is enjoying lots of cuddles and kisses. Only this morning he jumped onto a large sail boat we have hung on the wall and ManSlave was calling for Momma to come and help him hold up the boat because Ikon was bending the brackets with his 4k weight. It was a really funny sight with his big cream body behind the sails and ManSlave trying his best to hold it all up against the wall. He was promptly extracted by Momma with all of us laughing at his ungainly dismount whereupon he got down and beat us all up for laughing at him.
ODE TO THE WIGGLY WORM
Tyga Tyga burning brightly
Stripey and chocolate daily and nightly
Momma sings Tyga's happy song
She purrs and mews and sings along
Then it's playtime getting ready for bed
She grabs up Wormie by his head
Brings him squeaking to Momma's feet
Lays him down nice and neat
Taps him with her tiny paw
Squeaks and asks to play some more
Momma flicks that wormie about
Tyga jumps, twists and gives a shout
She hangs on tight and won't let go
Momma tugs and says "OH NO"
As wormie vanishes down whole
Right the way down her little gub hole
Tyga gulps and wormie is gone
down the gullet it's no con
Into her tummy and way down low
slithering down, nice and slow
Taking his time to reappear
We sit and wait and constantly peer
Searching through the chocolate gold
Oh how long will she keep hold?
Finally, after two days long
Out he pops all chocolatey and wrong
His colour is no longer bright
As he spent a day and a very long night
At least he is out and Tyga is free
The vet gave some pills and a very good fee
All for a wormie swallowed one night
That gave all at Maystar a terrible fright!
I hope you enjoyed our fun and exciting week here at Maystar. I am off to check out the roast of beef and yorkshire pudds. My mouth is watering and Ikon and I shall keep a good eye on the proceedings. Today the clocks went back and the bright morning has been enjoyed by all laying on the floofy blankie watching Monty Don on the TV. Everything a Sunday should be.
