HEARTACHE:- On 10th December 2012, TomFun suddenly passed over to Rainbow Bridge with an allergic reaction to a set of drugs given to him for treatment of an inner ear disorder. He will be so sadly missed and our hearts ache with out him. Love you forever little man. Always and forever in our hearts. TOMFUN'S ORIGINAL STORY TomFun came to live with us in May 2012, he was the littlest cat in his litter, hence his name, Tom Thumb. As soon as he arrived he set the house alight with laughter and cuddles. Everyone loves him so much. It wasn't long before he acquired his pet name of TomFun. We are calling him Thomas when he is being troublesome, which is rare! He has a great little fuzzy friend called Ratty, he drags poor Ratty everywhere and leaves him all soggy and damp after he has thrashed him up and down the house. He is a very busy boy and loves to spend time racing about entertaining everyone. He is primarily Ade's cat, because, as you might have read, all the others spend lots of time with their Momma! So we make a concerted effort to make sure Ade spends lots of time with him. So far he likes to lick our eye lids, bite our noses and bounce everywhere. He is talkative, but not to you, more 'where is everyone' or 'play with me'. He does chirrup and purr a lot. We wouldn't say he is the most talented cat at solving problems, not quite like Slinky or Faith, but he is very comical with dropping toys in the water bowls and them leaving them in your shoes. He loves nothing more than playing fetch too! He is quite antagonistic towards the other cats, nothing serious, but this little guy has an exceedingly long memory about things! He is the type of cat that if you say 'Thomas, don't do that, don't do this, don't chase so and so' he will do it more. If anyone is laying in a nice warm spot, he just pats them until they move, then he is happy. He pounces on everyone, jumps all around them, races here and there trying to instigate play all the time. He is into everything, he is so busy, feet more than brain! TomFun, we have now found out, has a pollen allergy. So along with Ade and his hayfever allergy, the two get along just fine in their HEPA filtered room in the evening! It doesn't effect him like it did when he first arrived in May when all the Hawthorn was flowering, we now manage it by filtering the air, vacuuming lots and feeding a diet that is anti-allergic and chicken free. The good thing is, now that we know what the problem is, he is eating heartily and making up for lost time. Already he is showing signs of growing into his massive feet! |
