There is nothing like a litter of kittens to set your house alight with laughter and love.  Devon Rex kittens are no exception to that rule, but add in climbing your curtains, scaling doors, shredding loo rolls, kitchen rolls, tissues, newspapers and your post!  They steal anything and are extremely clever.

The MAYSTAR CRECHE

Maystar babies are born on the bed in a Sturdi Pen and they sleep next to me for a few days until Mum feels the need to move them to a more secure location. 

The girls generally select the kitten box as it is safe and secretive inside once the blinds are closed. The kitten box is 6ft by 2ft and has an extra Canadian wool cave for nesting.  At the far end is a microchip catflap that ONLY lets Mum come and go.   

They stay here for about 5 to 6 weeks and they have the hang of the litter tray.  At about 6 weeks, Mum feels the need to move them again.  We opt for a bigger space on the floor and use clear plastic panels to keep them safe.  They have lots of toys and climbing apparatus as well as their bed they were born in.   They do not leave this area unless they are fully litter trained and can jump on and off things without hurting themselves. 

After the confinement, they get the free run of the Kitten Room and the top floor of the house which has a gate at the stairs. After first vaccine, they are allowed down stairs and to mix with the household to set them up for their new lives..

Also included will be a beautiful care pack filled with goodies, plus, photos of your kittens growth, available online, showing growth and health.  There will also be a contract to be signed. 
BEFORE, AFTER & DURING YOUR VISIT 
You will always get to see Mum and kittens together and if Mummy Cat has been to the home Stud Boy, you can meet him too!  You will need at least an hour for your visit.

You will be introduced to the kittens in the kitten room where you can really see them 'up close and personal'. You will have a chance to meet the rest of the family too over a coffee.

Because kittens are so precious to our family, we would expect at least one / two visits before you take your kitten home or the kitten is delivered.  We would not sell any baby to anyone we or the kitten didn't feel comfortable with.

Kittens are usually viewed after their first injections at 9weeks old, they are also very active around this time and full of play time!  If you are planning to visit other breeders, could we kindly ask you not to visit us on the same day due to possible infections being brought in on clothing etc. 

When you collect your kitten you will require a sturdy pet carrier, a warm blanket and a heat source. We would hope that by 14weeks our kittens are well socialized and it's more of an exciting journey than a scary one!
**NOTICE **
In 2018 we helped collect two kittens from flats in London and adding to this one of our own kittens, making three kittens needing rehabilitation and new homes. 
Unfortunately, all new homes will now have a home check at the buyers expense if a kitten can not be delivered by ourselves. 
We will also NOT BE SELLING ANY KITTENS TO SMALL FLATS IN LONDON.  STUDENTS ALSO NEED NOT APPLY.

​ Any kitten at Maystar Devon Rex is 'HOLD' subject to a full 9 week health check by a qualified vet. No deposit will be accepted until this time. 'HOLD' simply means the family specifically waiting for a Maystar kitten can watch the litter grow and have weekly updates of the litter and or a specific kitten if choosing one so early. Due to kittens potentially not thriving and growing to a full leaving age of 14weeks, all deposits will be duly returned. At no time are monies kept in this situation. Most kittens are reserved by friends of friends or family and I suggest that the family chose to get to know Maystar Devon Rex and enjoy the benefit of watching kittens grow. No kitten will be sold without a home check and at least one visit to Maystar HQ.
