RANKIN'S Ch ICON OF GOLD BLUE SUN (DRX e 33, M, 08/10/2018) A 13 month old Cream Point Devon lad well grown though lacking maturity. Head of fairly good shape but lacking breadth. Ears of medium size, fairly well set but the outer corner needs to be set lower – he was so very interested in everything when out of the pen that he held them rather high! Profile very straight with almost no stop other than visual fur. Eyes rather full. Firm muscular body, long tapered tail. Coat short and dense with good rexing, unfortunately there was bristle evident on tail. A lovely friendly lad in excellent condition. On the day I did not feel he quite reached the standard for the Grand. |

Very nice cat with an exceptional coat for the age. I would love to see the eyes a bit more open, but the eye color is lovely. The ears are a bit high set, but the size is quite nice. The body is the correct size and is well muscled. The cat is in excellent condition and nicely prepared for the show. |

1 CC RANKIN’S ICON OF GOLD BLUE SUN (DRX e 33, 08/10/2018)
I judged this youngster very recently & he seems to have grown in the last 3 weeks! A handsome, friendly boy who really shows himself well. He has large, wide-based tufted ears set low on a flat top of head, distinct stop to his nose in profile, almost level chin & correct bite. Face-on he has plenty of width at the cheeks, a definite whisker break & excellent breadth to his muzzle. His eyes are large, oval in shape & set wide apart, slanted slightly towards the ears – he has quite a gentle expression (in keeping with his temperament). Very well grown for his age (now just over 9 months) – solid weighty body, broad chest, elegant neck, long legs finished with neat oval paws & a long tapered tail. His coat is short & soft, covers body well & rexing is beginning to develop in most areas. A pleasure to handle as always - very difficult to decide between him & the girl for BOB. |

BEST OF VARIETY KITTEN WINNER SECTION 4 2019
1 st & BOB RANKIN'S ICON OF GOLD BLUE SUN (DRX e 33, M, 08/10/2018) Attractive youngster whose head forms a short, broad wedge with high set cheekbones. Brow curves back to a flat skull. Short nose with a fairly defined stop. Large wide based ears, tapering to rounded tips with slight muffs at the ear base and tiny tufts at tips, set quite low and well apart. Muzzle shows a reasonably defined whisker break, chin is quite a good depth, bite is level. Most attractive large, wide set, oval shaped eyes sloping correctly towards the outer edges of the ears with a super Devon expression! His head sits on a long neck and he has a very nicely muscled, broad chested firm body of good weight and feel, carried high on slender shapely legs, rear legs emphasised, oval paws and a good tail for length and shape. He is well covered all over the head, body and upper legs in a short, quite dense, softly textured coat showing evenly spaced small waves with minimal guard hairs just on the top of his back at the rump and then just a tiny few on the base of the tail, rest of the tail is soft coated and shows waves all the way to a wavy tip. Whiskers and eyebrows are short and stubbly. A very confident young chap who enjoys his cuddles and watches the world go by his pen. Finally, no points for colour but he has really nice points and a lovely creamy body colour which is most attractive with such good blue eye colour! Congratulations on being awarded Best Kitten in Section 4 in both shows! |

BEST OF VARIETY KITTEN WINNER SECTION 4
1 BOB RANKIN’S ICON OF GOLD BLUE SUN (DRX e 33, 08/10/2018) A delightful chap, almost adult & looking promising. He has large, wide-based ears with tufts & muffs, set low on his head. In profile he has a well-defined stop to his short nose, his chin of medium depth slopes away slightly; bite is correct. Viewed from the front, he is wide across the cheeks, with a clearly defined whisker break & short broad muzzle. His eyes are pale blue in colour, large oval in shape, set on a slight slant towards the ears; he has a typical expression. A weighty boy of just over 8 months, he has an elegant neck, broad chest & straight back, long legs finished with neat oval paws & a long tapered tail. His coat is short & soft, density still developing, loosely waved to most areas. Mentioned for interest only - I suspect he may be red- rather than cream-pointed. Shown in excellent condition, he has a wonderful relaxed temperament too. |

Expressive pale blue eyes of good size & almond shape. Nose showing break in profile. Good width to his cheeks with quite high-set cheekbones. Level bite. Fairly good strength & depth to his chin. His coat was well presented. It shows developing waving, with rexing most evident along his spine, flanks and legs. The texture is generally soft, just with some slightly harsher coat at the very base of his spine and along his tail. Down underneath and around his neck. Warm apricot to points. Creamy white body. Excellent muscular body of good shape. Slender legs with small oval paws. Tail of good length to balance, slightly tapered. Lovely show temperament. |

102 RANKIN’S ICON GOLD OF BLUE SUN. DRX e 33. 08-10-18. Cream Point Devon Rex, This lad was beautifully grown he is beautifully muscled for his young age and is really maturing well good breadth of chest, well muscled, he has well proportioned legs and paws, I would have preferred a finer tail but it is a very well balanced length. Head is maturing well, short and wide with well defined sculpted cheeks, muzzle rounds gently, flat brow between the ears, his stop does not appear to be as well defined as when he was younger, but is present nonetheless adequate, his chin has depth but his bite may need watching. Ears have hint of tufts at the tips and slight muffs at their base, I would ideally like larger but one has to live with when one gets, well flared at their base. I love his eyes, whilst there are no points for eye colour his for a pointed are a surprisingly good blue, the shape and set are both very good, the expression is surprisingly sweet. Well covered his coat short and dense, the tummy was covered, his wave is developing well, on the body and tail though it does appear to be getting more obvious guard hairs as he is growing up, not being quite as soft as when I handled him last. He has a number of shorter stubblier whiskers and eyebrows. He has a wonderful temperament and handled beautifully, super condition. Certainly sells himself well |
