VIKTORI FINDS A CUREViktori spent the entire summer totally naked and having sever reactions to her medication 'ATOPICA'. It was a pretty stressful as her fur began to fall out and her skin became red, inflamed and very itchy. Her breathing attacks became worse with gasping and choking part of our daily lives. We couldn't leave her alone for a second. Her bladder became inflamed and she peed where she sat for months. Finally, this month, she was referred to a dermatologist as the vets were at a loss of how to treat her. Whilst she was weaned off the Atopica and we waited for an appointment, I began to give her Citerazine antihistamine which seemed to settle her enraged system down. By the time we saw Mr Godfrey, she was halfway cured purely by accident. It seems she has feline urticaria pigmentosa and Citerazine was found, only recently, to be the cure. DEC 2021

PEARL LEAVES FOR PASTURES NEWAfter much deliberation on exactly how to make pearl happier we decided to ask a friend to trial her at their home. She was very stressed and plagued with urinary issues here. There was just too many 'hormonal cat women' here.
I took her to Melksham and stayed for two days settling her in. She was just amazing and tried so hard to be the cat I know and love and she has gone from strength to strength and after just a month is fully integrated into her wonderful new home with two of her grandkits and two other quiet domestic shorthairs. She has begun carrying her favourite goldfish mewling and chatting again. I am so very proud of her and eternally grateful for her new families help. NOV 2021 |
VIKTORI HEADS TO THE VETSPoor Viktori had a pretty bad breathing attack this month which was a real worry. She had licked a tray with tuna residue on it which was enough to tip her immune system into overdrive which set off a chain reaction of swelling in her throat, which caused her to experience dyspnea. She was so stressed, she vomited then aspirated food into her lungs. She spent the day at Broad Lane Vet Clinic with a concoction of meds and fluids to set her right and bring down her reaction. She doesn't half give us a scare at times! OCT 2021

SHOUT-OUT"When you share - have a care" with a thank you in advance.
We are asking everyone who shares any of our social media posts to #MaystarDevonRex to make sure we can see where the shares are going. There has been so much spurious re-posting to private message accounts that are untraceable and being used in fake advertising of kittens - this way, we can keep track of the correctly posted re-posts. IKON GETS NEW DIGSIkon and Magnus Rex, Father & Son, began fighting many months back now and we had to separate them. It was Ikon causing all the trouble and each night there were big fights in the cat house. Ikon was moved out to Al-CAT-Raz, that the girls use during the day. He had his wheel and all he needed, but our eventual aim was to halve the House of Fun and create Ikon a flatlett.
He now has a tree, a hammock, lots of climbing areas and best of all access and full view of the bird and squirrel feeders just inches away. JUL 2021 |

have produced a lovely litter of four colourpoint babies (Originally a litter of 8). Robyn gave birth to four babies naturally, then got so exhausted, she had to undergo a CSecion to get the rest of them out. Due to so many being cramped inside, we lost half of the litter. However, a week on and four are thriving and Mum has bounced back to her happy loving self and is doing an excellent job. MAR 2021 |
