About Maystar Devon Rex

Picture
My Name is Nicole S J Rankin, I am a Fantasy Cat Artist, Illustrator, Card Designer and a Devon Rex Cat Lover,  my GCCF & TICA Prefix is 'Maystarex' and I run my business from home under the Maystar Design banner.  We are based in Coventry, West Midlands.

I want to take you back  to roughly 1988 when I lost Gemini, my tabby farm cat.  He was the love of my life and sadly that year he passed away.  Gemini and I had traveled the country together before I settled back in Buckinghamshire and met my now husband, Ade.  We took Gemini to the woods and buried him in a secluded spot.  It was the first time in my life I had been without a cat. Ade was reading the papers a few months later and said there was an advertisement for kittens, Devon Rex kittens!  There was also a the 1991 Rex Cat Club Show being held that weekend  in our local leisure center, so off we went!  It was here that we were able to see these stunning cats in flesh and blood.  We met Fran & Don Ayres, (who we are still friends with today) and they had a black smoke kitten called Dewie available.  Of course we went and had a look.   He was amazing and had such amazing coat and type.  Fran and Don entrusted us with this beautiful creature and we are so grateful to them for introducing us to the breed.
