PEDIGREE NAMING HISTORY:-
When Gazoo was born, like every other colourpoint, she was born snow white and had a very difficult struggle at the beginning of her little life and being the only girl to survive in the litter she needed a powerful name. I was reading the legendary story of Elizabeth Woodville c1437 who was Queen of England from her mariage to King Edward IV. She was a key figure in the War of the Roses, a dynastic civil war between the Lancastrian & Yorkist factions between 1455 & 1487.
Gazoo's 'house name' was created from the funniest noise she made like a musical Kazoo of our youth. The funny vibrating zoozoozoo those little plastic toys made was the exact same sound as her meow. She has to be the funniest little cat we have ever had the pleasure of having here at Maystar HQ. She just had to stay and carry on her Mother's line, which originally started at Viktori, through Tyga and then Robyn. The line has been such an up and down rollercoaster that we kept Gazoo at one last ditched attempt at not losing 7yrs of hard graft.
Character wise, she is daft, sensitive, funny, kind hearted and very loving. She was a delicate kitten and had no real social skills, mainly because Robyn loved her so much and wouldn't let her socialise properly, this lead to her being picked on and still today, she is all head bonks and in your face, which not every pride member enjoys. She is loud and very shouty and I am sure, deep down inside and up to 30 generations back, that true Siamese is trying to get out!
Gazoo was an exception mother to her kittens and when we lost the litter (see below) she was heart broken and her body came out in an over production of normal bacteria that live on the skin and her entire 'soft areas' eyes, ears, nose, lips & vulva became so painful and encrusted so quickly that she spent weeks in the vets recovering and specialists looked into all the major serious problems and we all honestly thought she was going to pass away. I nursed her and cared for her, both of us healing from the devastation and gradually, day by day, she began to respond to the treatments.
In the December of 2022 I brought her a kitten, she needed something to love and was still so sad and broken. We had the entire house tested and all cats had received extra panleukopenia injections as had the new kitten, Eros, and she took him under her wing and has not let him out of her sight since and both sleep with me still every night.

GAZOOLINGSMating with SOL - MAYSTAREX THE SUN KING - 2022
MOCHI, APOLLO, TROY, CHARM & PUMPKIN At 13 weeks tragedy struck this litter with such gusto that even the vets were mystified and after two weeks of fighting for them with fluids day & night , we lost them all within a day on the Queens Jubilee of 2022 to CANINE PARVO VIRUS. We had visited a tenants property and one of their Rex (my breeding) was off colour? Their next door neighbours dog passed suddenly with explosive sickness which we presume was CP? It is the only link we have. The poorly Rex at the Tenants home was in ITU for 8 weeks. He made it but sadly, our kittens couldn't cope with it. It was an awful life lesson. |
They nestled their affection in our hearts and live on forever in our memory. Rest in Peace beautiful little family.
