NAMING HISTORY:-
Catherine II and most commonly known as Catherine the Great was Empress regnant of Russia from 1762-1796 and was Russia's longest ruling female. She overthrew her husband, Peter III, in a coup d'erat. Russia grew larger, it's culture revitalised and was one of the great powers of Europe. We wanted to make a nod to SaBreena's Father being from Russian / Latvian breed lines.
SaBreena was one of the most exciting kittens born here at Maystar. She is third generation Maystar on her Mother's side and genetically perfect for our breeding programme. She is an unusual girl and very independent in her ways and was the hard choice to keep aesthetically here as she is so different. However, everyone loves her quirky looks and strange ways and we have all grown to love one another. It was very strange keeping a kitten that didn't 'sing' to me heart wise. That said, she has proved herself over and over to be a delightful girl to live with. She never utters a word or makes a sound and never did. Such a quiet and non reactive girl. She does have the most amazing purr and despite her silence, she can rumble louder than anyone in the house.
We are so interested to see how her first litter pans out with colours and type. She is a real mixed bag of amazing pointy ears that are set a bit too high, great chin, lovely stop and beautiful eye and coat colour. Her coat is a little lose like Mum, Pearl, but as she has grown her coat has become very silky and denser. She has braved Motherhood already at 14months old and really bloomed and come out with the cutest personality we never knew existed. She is an excellent caring Mother, who is kind and sweet to her kittens and the other cats and guess what? She found her voice after the kittens were 5 weeks old and can be heard chatting happily with them and calling them. What a dream Mummy she has been and we are so proud of everything she has achieved.
