Lillibet & Faith went to the Pet Show to show people of the UK a Devon Rex.  Well, we all know that Lillibet is not the best example, but if nothing else she made a huge impression and was a real super star. She lapped up the attention and really showed her self off in a good light.  He Mother on the other hand did not enjoy the event and managed only a short stint on the table and by the time a few hundred people had stroked her beautiful coat, she expressed that she would prefer it back in her pen.

Lillibet lay in her bed all day and wore her bandana like a pro and was happy to be touched and fussed. Momma had a piece of lovely material which felt just like a real Devon Rex, so got people to stroke that as none of the Devons on the day had any coat - except for Faith! It worked well.  They would look at Lillibet, Momma would explain about the Devons and where they came from and why Lillibet was a little different - then they looked at Faith in her pen and stroked the fur.  it worked very well. Everyone got to touch a cat, feel the material then look at one who was sitting showing off her curls but didn't want to be petted.  It was a good day really

I think if I had been there, I would have won the crowds over and been the peoples choice, but alas, with my skin and not being vaccinated, there is no change of me ever going and strutting my stuff!  Styrofoam Slinky went in my place an I got a few new Facebook friends!

Here she is, the Princess of the pride at her debut show selling her LilliLongLegs Toys! Oh what a babe she was all day for Momma, sitting on her heated pad that Eva and David (Jaz7 Jamies's parentals) had sent her for her Birthday last year. She wore her special bandanna that our friend from Z's Sew-n-sew ha made her especially!

It took Momma a little bit of training to get her to wear the bandanna and also to sit still all day and not move.  There was more than one comment that her door was open, but she was just so pleased to be doing as she asked and not move until she was asked.  She let everyone fuss her and was a complete angel. If not a very tired one!
Momma was worried because only the night before she had been told tails of Lillibet's sister Jasmine and how Jaz had been very rude to visitors in their home and to the vet and to David and then to Eva and how she doesn't like her harness anymore and shouts and hollars and says rude words.  Momma was not going to tell lillibet about the goings on incase she thought this behavour was a good idea!

There was some discord when Lillibet & Momma returned home. Faith was furious that she had been left and reprimanded Momma and mouthed her hand and hissed and then hissed at Lillibet and sulked upstairs all evening even though Momma had brought new toys. She even went as far as to pee on the freshly washed show equipment whilst it hung on the radiators to dry. She was being a madam.  So Momma rewarded her for this behaviour by letting us all sleep in with her in the comfort of the Kitten room, where faith finally snuggled into Momma and hissed at Lillibet if she even so looked her way. I stay out of these things. It's all to do with jealousy, I don't go in for that, I go in for new toys, treats and snax on offer after a show!

TOWERING OVER EVERYONE
Even though it's Sunday, Momma has been very busy indeed and we were left in the capable hands today of ManSlave.  Who, I hasten to add, cooked himself a chicken and refused to give us any - he can be so mean at times.

So where was Momma?  Well, Momma took Styro-foam Slinky to meet lots of new people today and try to gain  much needed sponsorship for the Rex Cat Club 25th Anniversary show.  Every time Momma met someone new, she popped on my crown and took my photograph with the products. Today was with Tigga Towers! They really are amazing and quite unique pieces of cat furniture.  We would love one of those to play on!  Oh ManSlave.....

Well, Styro-foam Slinky finally made it home, a little tatty around the edges, but I feel my alter-ego has done a good weeks work. When they got home they were both very hungry and Momma checked out the fridge... Oooh chicken she said and made a nice curry for the Parentals and we got all of the pickings. Thank goodness she came home, we were about to fade away from starvation.

WINNERS ROW

Our little home bred Lillibet had her first day out at the Shorthaired Cat Club yesterday. She managed to bring home a red rosette to match that of Faith's success as a kitten.  She was the cutest kitten on the day and Momma was very proud of her.  

At home, Faith was left with no kittens at all and she was quite upset all day that Momma took her last baby.  Momma tried to explain that she was going in the 'show basket' and not the disappear forever box.  She had still not forgiven Momma for taking Jaz & James away.  ManSlave stayed at home with her and that at least meant that we were not too starving when she got home.

Faith did hiss at Lillibet and screamed at Momma when Momma touched her, she is so angry.  I said 'Yo babe, why are you so angry?'  She just huffed at me like I should know!  I don't know, I don't get it.  Momma comes home and brings fresh catnip toys, so what's the problem?  Well after a short while and the Valerian kicked in, she came round a bit and even had a tiny purr.  She then chased Lillibet all over the house and then came down and chirruped at me that she felt better after scolding her Daughter for being away.  Lillibet washed Faith's face and Faith mellowed considerably!

Little Lillibet has been very tired today and has been snuggled up to Mr.Zeus all day.  Well she had 'his' bed and his blankie and his heated pad.  I guess he felt he could share.  Now this little madam seems to be getting what she wants of late and even gave me a spit and a hiss whilst I was balanced on the cat post looking down at her.  In one breath, I was looking up at her and she was glaring at me telling me off by thwakking my head to make me get down... It's too much hassle to argue, so I did as I was bid - Well she is rather cute with it, I shall let her off this time, only because she got a First Prize in her Open Class!

NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOWBUSINESS

This time last year Momma took Faith to a number of shows in our local area, this year she may take Lillibet.  She is avidly looking through show schedules as there are a number of shows she could addend, but Momma is only going to pick one to see how she likes it!

Faith, after doing well as a kitten, hasn't been out as an Adult because she had her some babies.  Well that's not quite true, she did go out once as an Adult cat and was up against 3 and 5 year old kitties and Faith had only just turned 9 months of age, she discraced herself with a yellow rosette - no one talks about it!.  She had a nice write up though, so Momma thinks she could perhaps go out again this Summer and see what she thinks to being judged then - she wasn't really enjoying it because she has been spoiled far too much and allowed to get her own way.  Mmmm I wonder if Lillbet might be the same?  Momma does seem to be spoiling her just as much!

Well the show has been chosen, Lillibet is all booked in.  Her chocolate coat is non existent but her ears are rather large - might this squeaky little beast woo the Judges with her charm and grace alone and may they overlook the fact that her coat has all but fallen out?  She looks more like a chocolate Sphynx than a Devon Rex.  At the end of the day, as long as she presents her self well and is able to be handled and be polite, that's all we ask.  The other thing is - we do rather like red!  So come on Lillibet, carry on from where your Mother left off please and make us proud that the first Maystar kitten is making her debut !
