Lillibet at the 2014 Show
Yesterday saw Flaire visit the Stonleigh Pet Show to Meets & Greets all MY FANS!  I say MY FANS, because, after all it's all my stuff she used to make herself stand out in the crowd.  MY CROWN BED, MY RED CARPET and even my Styrofoam KS made an appearance to either much love and worship or sneers and cajoling from others less worthy.  I had my hard core worshipers who came for a nosey.  But really this little princess took 'pride' of place today.  In fact she is the kid of hand me downs.  Momma raided Faith's mood boards from 2011 and turned them into new ones, pinching the sparkly red lettering to make up her posh name.  She also ha all of J1's bedding from the House of Fun to make hammocks and a comfy place to to be stroked by the hundreds of sticky fingers passing through. I say 'sticky' because there were oodles of children not only with cooling ice lollies on this exceptionally hot day but also some very pretty and handsome princess & princesses who would have squirreled her away in their rucksacks in a flash of an eye.

She was one of the most photographed cats, having selfies with lots of the children and a few adults yet to grow up, on the cusp of really wanting a Devon Rex but male partners standing well back stating that allergies were the thing stopping their beloveds owning a cat.  I remember ManSlave trying that one on when they got me.  Momma ignored him and got me anyway.  OK, so he is terribly allergic, but that's what antihistamines are for and HEPA filters and such like.  Never devoid your partner of any Devon Rex!

She had two tantrums during the day.  The first was excusable after a three hour stint of 'heavy petting' from the general public.  Momma has a great technique for slowing the public down. Baby wipes.  It keeps the line busy wiping hands ready for a stroke and then it draws a crowd where by a little talk about the breed ensues.  This helps to calm Flaire, who was getting mighty fidgety by hour three.  But the crowds just kept coming.  Then it happened, ManSlave turned up with reserves and BAM! She went into scream mode, standing on her hind legs, straining against her harness, yelling his name.  DADDDDDDEEEEEE.  Oh my, the crowds all grabbed their children to safety whilst she bounced and plunged and sprang and yelled, with no amount of malice, no claws, no hissing or swearing... just full on stamping feet to get to her only real human love.  Fair is fair.  She had cuddles and was given a yummy lunch and went for a long hours sleep.  Where upon tantrum number two happened... like any baby woken from the afternoon nap acts, grumpy and lethargic and muzzy headed.  She was aptly named monkey cat by quite a few children and after a few quiet words and a few stern 'lay down' from Momma who was trying not to laugh at her antics, she finally settled for an other 2hrs of stroking and fussing, then more noms and a long rest in her hammock. Folks were still peering in and she didn't mind this one bit, but at the very end of the day there was a sweet little girl who loved her so much she kept coming back and Flaire finally said her goodbyes and went to her pen where she then gave the little girl a few choice words through the bars. Oh my, I hope she wasn't tainted by her experience of a swearing baby?

I don't think I could put up with children touching my tail and stroking my bum and tickling my chin.  Nope, I shall leave that up to the CatWomen.  They are much more placid.  Well, most are.  Faith swore at the crowds in 2014 whilst her daughter, Lillibet, soaked up the attention and laid all day out in the public eye.  She would not, however, wear a harness like Flaire had to. Oh no... she wanted to be naked with no restrictions.  Flaire is good in this way, Momma made her wear a harness from a small age.  Now it's normal.  She will be as good as me in it one day.  Well, we are all very proud of our little Queen of Scots, she really gave the public a close eye on the breed and hopefully dispelled the myth that we are shaved like Alpacas or Poodles and that our coats are naturally curly, dense and very very soft. OK, The CatWomen's are, I am spiky like a loo brush. The looks on the faces of so many was enchanting as they bend to stroke the fur and then utter surprise at just how soft it really is.  That is what makes a good show and tell.  Surprise and education!

LOVE BITES

Gracie visited her boyfriend Sweep and did the 'deed'.  They snuggled up like a pair of love birds for two weeks.  I think Sweep was quite sad when it was finally time for her to come home.  Gracie is very clingy and following Momma everywhere.  She walked in, spat at her Daughter, greeted me with a kiss and slapped Lillibet and gave Faith a wide birth.  Nothing much changed then?

She looks a little thin, but that is just all the extra exercise she got during those weeks away. It won't take long for that to come back, it's not like she didn't eat anything either! 40 packs of noms vanished along with half a kilo of kibble noms too.  So where is it all going?  Ahhh, I know, it's going into making more mini cats! OK, I get it now.  I wish I could get away with eating that much noms without any ill effects, but sadly I would require the pink tray tout sweet!

But it seems Sweep has done his duty well as Gracie has appeared this morning with pink nipples, a sure fire way to tell if she is pregnant.  Combine that and the copious amounts of sick, but only in the mornings and mainly on Momma's bed!  I have managed to get to a couple of these outputs and try to sort through the freshly eaten kibble to find me a quicky snack before Momma comes to clean up.  I then get a telling off like it's my fault that all this mess is all over the duvet.  It's never the CatWomens fault is it? Oh no, they are special, they are feeding minicats in there.

Gracie has been demanding lots more raw food and is enjoying the new hunters menu with turkey and rabbit, but that was just not good enough for her yesterday when she stalked a baby Dunnock on the roof of the House of Fun.  She stuck her paw through the wire and grabbed the baby bird, With one quick bite to the neck and then the chest the littun didn't stand a chance.  With a mouth full of feathers and teeth well and truly wedged it took ManSlave and Momma to ease her jaw open to drop the baby birdy.  She growled and growled and told them off and told all of us off to, she finally had to release the Dunnock, who by now was a little munched.  What a waste of a small life, but we were not allowed to have it to munch on either.  Momma left us some feathers to sniff and get excited over and Gracie cried that her catch was thrown into the wilderness next door for the 'wild' animals to find!

No doubt Gracie will start to get very rounded now, she looks full down below, just thin on top.  The last time she was stuffed full and even Trudy from the Scanning place couldn't detect the five she had in there.  This time Momma is wishing and hoping there won't be any C-Sections and all babies can be born at home.  Gracie isn't much bigger than she was the last time, so here is crossing paws!

WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER

Judge Perri Mansaray liked her very much and awarded 2nd out of 5 stunning cats. And in another class in another show 1st out of 3! very pleased with our kid.
Momma got us stupidly early yesterday morning to take Flaire to a show in Swindon.  Momma usually on enters one show, the Wiltshire one, but it was a double show so she thought, why not enter both and to top it off she was going to meet up with Floki - but Wales won the football, some Euro thingie, so Floki's family were a little worse for wear and didn't make it! Oh well, there are other cat shows, the football is history!  So talking of history, Flaire made her own by winning her first Challenge Certificate making her 1/3 on the way to being a little champion one day.  She was up against Gracie's cousin DiDi, who beat her in one show and then Flaire beat DiDi in another show under a different judge.  Way to go girls.  Keep it in the family I say!

She was as good as gold all day and Momma was more proud with the way she presented herself all day.  Quite the confident little soul who ate a hearty breakfast of 85g sachet of food at 5.30am as well as a snack of 20gms of kibble at 3am.  She has an appetite or worms!  She then went on until midday where she popped down another 1/2 a sachet of food and even turned her nose up at the ducky treats... I would never do that!  She then sat in her little heated bed Momma had made her, of course, being a GCCF show this time, everything has to be whiter than white.  So hiding the luminescent pink heat pad is quite a challenge!  Momma made her a white ratty too, because no one can travel alone, let alone be without a friend.  That friend then has to be removed for a few hours whilst they judge her. Oh well, she had lots to think about with 6 classes to attend.

But, wait, you don't have to live with the big headed Flaire when she came home, dancing and prancing in with her fancy rosettes and GOLD certificate.  Oh this is way too much I tell ya!  She showe us all the new Toys Momma brought and then showed us the rosettes AGAIN. Then she ponced about shouting 'winner winner chicken dinner' all night long and even then she wasn't tired out and ran about well after midnight where poor Lillibet was trying to sleep, but with Gracie away at her boyfriends house, Flaire was looking for someone to play with... love, just a note... that is NOT Lillibet.  She is not called the Kraken for nothing you know!  Oh what a drama, all four of us in bed with Momma and all that Thwakking going on. "winner winner chicken dinner" THWAKK THWAKK "winner winner chicken dinner" THWAK THWAKK.  All this talk of food is making me hungry.

We were rewarded today with said 'chicken dinner' and did we see any of it?  Did we heckers like!
