"Well a medieval litter has to have something medieval to do right? And what better thing to do that hurl your fellow siblings about like missiles in the form of siege warfare.

So this morning, I was watching from under the crack in the door and I see Pearl loading her full 800g onto the backside of the Trebuchet multi kitty gym and lightweight Pandora was teetering on the far edge, with a draw back on the bowing side, Astrid and Maisie lend a helping paw to really draw the side down and tentatively, Pandora climbs on.  I could immediately see what was going to happen, but was powerless to do anything about it.  There was an almighty 'stand clear' and Pandora took a somewhat elegant first flight in a struggled arc right onto the edge of the bed and down the side and her fall was broken by the litter tray at the side of the bed. Meeeeeewwwww.  She wailed as she was catapulted through the air.  The other three laughing so hard they could barely stand.  "Again, again." Shouts Astrid, climbing to the top to get best leverage, but Pandora is not trying THAT a second time.  I stifle a giggle.  Like you do!

I remember playing on this very multi kitty gym when I was just a kit. In fact, Momma brought it for me.  It was so much fun and I was just one!  I never got to do things like that though, I think I would have enjoyed being catapulted hither and thither.  Flying is a huge achievement and a mighty 6.5weeks old, Pandora has beaten most kitties in her league already!  I didn't fly until I was 5 months old. I leapt onto what I thought was going to be a safe landing, ManSlave, but he moved because I didn't announce I was coming at him full pelt down the stairwell.  And bang, crash whollop I tumbled down the stairs in an ungainly heap, but during those first moments of flight I felt incredible, as though I really do have those butterfly wings Momma is always painting on cats!  But flying is short lived, I haven't tried again for awhile. The only flying is from the fridge to the window climber and that's about it. I watch the birds with utter envy that they can just fly away.

I  hear my cousin, Jamie, in Ireland experiences the same feeling of frustration that the only thing a cat can't do is fly after those frustrating seagulls outside his home in Cobh. Jasmine is more philosophical about birds, she thinks a bird in the paw is worth two bits in your dish. She is a wise soul that one, pretty too!  I can hear Jamie shouting now "I AM THE ORIGINAL MAYSTAR BOY!"  Oh my, so he is... he was nearly the ONLY boy too until Kevin came along and rained on his parade!

Talking of parades, I am to go to a show soon.  It is a parade as such right?  Lillibet tells me it's fun.  She quite liked showing, not that she got placed at all, but still, she had fun.  My mum doesn't like showing and spends all day growling at the judges and my Sister Flaire, who is a Champion spat and snarled her way through the whole ordeal.  She really didn't like people poking their faces in HER pen, neither did she like the fact there were Cornish Rex looking snootily down their noses at her from across the way.  Nope, she much prefered the open showing where Momma handled her all day.  Oh well.  I don't think I shall act like that, I shall take a leaf out of My Dad's book and me more like him!  Calm and a little bit silly.  I think I may yell some and stick my paws through the cage doors and rip up my processing cards and mess up my bed and spill my water into my litter and then, if the judges are lucky, they might get one of my rumbling purrs!  I have been told to keep my ears down and eyes soft and my whisker pads out and my nose in!  Heck with all that... I will have my mouth open, ears back and be singing show tunes to anyone that will listen.

So long folks.  Love from Vee <3

BILL PAYERS PARADISE

It occurs to me that us felines are destined to spend all of the Parentals monies.  Just this year alone, we have racked up a huge amount of spondoolies.  Flaire was the first one to start on the monies front. She had the C-Section at a huge cost and then a few days later emergency surgery to rectify the C-Section surgery.  Then Faith has a complete fit and couldn't pee, stand up or do anything much.  Momma had changed the food to a Salmon flavour and it seems the extra fat in the salmon made her SO FAT that she couldn't fit through the cat flap.  So off to the Vet Simon and a heart scan and antibiotics and blood tests and all sorts of things to find out whats wrong. She is back home now, on special food which again is costing a small fortune.  And seeing as Faith's Son, Jamie in Ireland, had a similar issue, Momma decided to put Lillibet on the same food, just in case.  So after all the time and effort it took to get everyone eating the same thing after KS left us, it's all blown out of the water!  The kibble is too rich for some it seems and not enough urinary protection.

Flaire is on a grain free diet which costs a small fortune because she can only really eat turkey and absolutely NO RICE or CHICKEN.  But it is too costly to feed everyone and the other kibble we are on is grain free and turkey, but I wasn't gaining weight, so the salmon was worth a test trial.  Even Mr. Zeus got a bit porky over at Mrs R's place.  She stated that he was looking a tad porky!  I am meant to be on kitten kibble, but in short, I don't like it!  I do like the new one and because I run around like a wild animal, I don't put on much weight, only about 50 a week at the moment.  Less than the Flairelings!  My Mum Gracie is looking rather, um, well porky too! I must whisper that because she thinks she looks fabulous.  He coat is sticking out a bit, so I beg to differ!  Speaking of coat... All mine fell out when I went for my vaccinations.  It wasn't the vaccine, but maybe the shock of the FURMOMETER?  Again, more expense.  A full course for me and a booster for Mum.  We are enjoying the spending of hard earned cash. The Parentals don't need a holiday anyway!

So, just to top it all off, Momma has to worm us all.  YUCKY!  It's that time of year, so we made the beautiful dark blue wool carpets look like a flock of seagulls had been let loose on the hall stairs and landing!  In Flaire's room, her chocolate gold was a little 'milky', so Momma did her too.  HUGE MISTAKE!  Flaire did her chocolate gold and must have sat back in it, covering her tail, she covered her mess neatly, then proceeded to run about the kitten room splashing chocolate gold on everything!  Oh my, Momma was not happy at all.  This emptying and painting process went on for a few days and this morning she was at Vet SImon's again to try and slow the tummy tantrum.  More stuff, antibiotics and special probiotics but the fructose kind not the milky kind as that makes her worse. Apparently, her good bacteria has been swamped by bad bacteria and allowed infection to creep in possibly from the weaning stage of washing babies.  Who knows, all we know is we have one pride member unable to go through the cat flap and one that  could slip through the post box.

If it's not one thing it's another.  Luckily, I am very healthy, despite my lack of clothing.  Although, I do look super funny with just fluffy boots on. That will soon rectify, Spring is here, by time clock said 'drop it baby'as the days are getting longer.  So I did. I shed my fur to grow new stuff.  However, Momma is a bit annoyed as she has entered me into a show and my lack of clothing could render me 'with held'.  Oh well, it's a day out and an experience I need under my belt, or lack of one!

Lots of love from Viktori Vee <3

FIGHT OR FLIGHT

My Mum Grace is a very special cat.  She doesn't possess a nasty bone in her body.  Even though she growls madly at me as she did with Flaire when she was my age.  I don't know what gets in her brain. It's like a switch.  One minute she is all love and light and then she is love and light with a bite.  She can be snarling quite ferociously and be rubbing her face on something at the same time.  Do I take any notice?  Nope.  I prance and dance just out of reach and she berates me and bites my neck.  Like I care.  I skip away and come at her from another angle. BOING BOING BOING....

Honestly, life is too short to be worried about her language towards me.  The problem is, really, she is scared.  Scared of loosing her space in the Pride.  She shouldn't be too concerned as I will be top cat! I know it.  I am the longest reigning Queen for starters.  It might change about a bit, but for now, I have my heart set on world domination!

Faith is one for World domination too, she has always been topcat and even though she is neutered, she has some crafty moves for a six year old. She doesn't phase me though, I have moves to outwit her.  But Mum Grace is a bit...um, well, stoopid!  She yowels at Faith and Faith chases her, then she corners her and then, if she is fast enough, takes a chomp out of my Mum. Just look at the nasty scar on Mum's sniffer.  That was Faith being gentle!! Yesterday, Faith wore a bright white mustache where she had taken a chomp from the underside of Mum Grace's belly.  She sported it for a few minutes until ManSlave picked her up and told her off and put her in the House of Fun with Lillibet. WALK OF SHAME over the sky bridge.  Pfft, she doesn't care.  The HOF is all her territory now too.  The only bit Gracie owns is the top bunk on the landing and that's only because Faith is too rotund to climb up there!

Well, off to work out how to do a double bounce and back flip off the side of the cat post.  I have been working on that and tripping the Parentals as they carry things.  It's such fun and when they tell me off, I lay at their feet squirming.  The other day, I lay on the stairs and flopped from step to step on Momma's foot, biting it and curling around it.  She shouted at me and that made me much worse and I could hardly stand from laughing.  Her face was a picture.  Anyone would think she was scared or something?

With love from Vee <3

NEW LIFE continued

For some very frustrating reason, I have been having issues with the IT manager around here and I have not been able to post for some time.  OK, so a little of it is to do with catwill and a little to procrastination. But finally, we are on the same page!

I have so much to tell you about and so much of it all gone and passed it no longer has meaning, but what does have meaning is the fact that six weeks ago, these little treasures were born to Flaire.  My Big Sister has taken everything in her stride and accepted Motherhood with flying colours.  She is sweet and determined to make a good go of things, despite the bad start she had with an awful C Section and then the tragic loss of her mammary glands due to necrosis after the surgery.  Now, although very thin, she is coping very well.  Momma made sure the 4 baby girls are being well fed and often to the detriment of her own well being.  She is calm and kind as well as loving and careful with them. This is the only litter that have stayed out all day to run about as Flaire is a great Mum and caters for each need so well.  Not like our own Mother Gracie, dragging us about by our necks and she even tore my throat open and I ended up at the vets at only four weeks old.

These 4 girls are so bold and dynamic.  Their colours are fun too, not the usual sultry chocolates, but an array of orange heads! With orange heads comes fiery natures and VERY determined catwomen.  Heaven help the new families!  They screech at everything they don't like, like eye washing and toenail clipping as well as yelling when they are hungry. Oh my, they are a right lot.  Not at all like me.... ::snigger:: well, OK, there is a bit of bonkers in all of them!

I can not wait to play with Pearl, she is the whitish looking one with blue eyes.  Oh, hold up, they all have blue eyes this week.  Well, OK, she is the least orange! Apparently she is lilac and orange with white markings.  That will be very pretty as she will have pretty blue eyes too like her Mother.  Momma always finds they are more delicate and squint in the sunshine, so there are lots of cat bogies around to be wiped away. Oh the screams, like Momma pulling their leggies off.  I listen at the door, I know how they feel.  I had awful stuff put on my bite marks, I screamed so much that day!

Well, I have other things to do now.  I must go and terrorise Lillibet, she thinks she is tough, but I am onto her.  One thwak from my septre and that puts her back in her place.  She is SO scare of me.  My Mum Gracie is growling at me now, I am so strong I think I am challenging her role as bottom cat!  She doesn't have to defend that role really, but she really would like it if I was bottom cat and not her.  Wait until Flaire and Pearl come out of the kitten room... Wow, that will be a day of confusion!

Lots of love from QV <3

    OFFICIAL BLOG SPOT
Since 2012 King Slinky has written and devoted his life to his loyal subjects, but with his passing in October 2016 someone had to be successor to the crown.

The position now falls to Queen Vee.  She is now the reining 'blog' monarch here at Maystar HQ.

Vee lives with her  Sister Flaire, Niece Pearl and is great Aunt to SaBreena.  She is Grandmother to Robyn and friends with Faith and distant cousin Fillycat.  We also have reigning Kings Ikon & Magnus Rex.
