Flaire was born here at Maystar, she is the second chance that we have been waiting for. Already she has made her mark and is so different to all the other cats. She absolutely adores Ade, so finally he has a cat of his own. Some of this was down to him being very hands on with this litter of babies. Flaire is named after Mary Queen of Scots. Her name Flaire came from the meaning of Mary with a twist on the spelling.
Flaire is a very determined young lady, who knows what she wants. When she was about 7 weeks old, she became quite poorly with an allergy but trying to find out what it was was really hard work. It boiled down to the Cimicat replacement milk that I was feeding in their morning gruel, I had to open a new box of it for new borns and so I didn't waste it, I fed it to Flaire and her siblings. Then, when we took her to the vet and he gave us some probiotic for her tummy. On further investigations, it's made from milk also. That was it! A milk allergy to even cat milks and products. because of this allergy I went on a food hunt and all is well and good now. Thankfully, she stayed here and wasn't off to a new family! We are very lucky to have such a beautiful girl.
Being a forward going and plucky sort, she walks well on her harness and has been on lots of holidays and trips in her first year in the caravan. This has made her very brave and outgoing. She quite enjoyed shows at first then found out if you jump at the judges whilst growling, some step back. She gained Championship status in 4 shows and at 10months old she went to the Pet Show where she met hundreds of people and children and she took it all in her stride. She has traveled to Scotland and down to Dorset without a blink of an eye. Such a well rounded kid. Now, though, she is a little spikey and spits at anyone who wants to judge her. She could go far, but not with that attitude.
She had her first litter of kittens in 2016 and we kept her daughter, Pearl, as a safe guard to our line. Flaire was quite poorly after her litter and lost much blood causing anemia. She still brought up 4 strapping girls and didn't waver once in their care. Under vet supervision, we will try again for a litter in 2017. She is a much loved girl with lots of spirit and guts. A real show off and you only get a fuss from her if you have earned it!
