Icon came to us from the delightful Skalij family in Northern Poland and the cattery Blue Sun. We have stayed friends with malgorzata and watched the cattery grow in success and finally after 7 years, we saw Ikon and knew he would be the one for us.
Ikon traveled with me in his carrier, leaving at 4am from our hotel to catch a flight to Brussels. Unfortunately, our flight was cancelled so we flew to Amsterdam and caught a train to Brussels where Ade met us and drove us back to the UK. There was much frustrations at the French passport office and Ikon nearly had to stay in France. It was mayhem, but finally, we got him home after 14hrs traveling.
He is a wonderful little character and so full of beans. He is heavy footed and very big for his age. He makes us all laugh and is quite pushy compared to our pride, so this was a little odd at first. He has a fun nature and always playing and jumping at pretend things and running around with his chicken in his mouth - hence his nickname 'Chicken Boy' which makes him go all silly when you say it.
At first he didn't know any English and we didn't know more than basic Polish and the word no, in, out and Ikon here have soon become part of his vocab. To everything else he is totally oblivious unless it is food related - then he is there, eating and chewing anything he can find that is edible, including loo rolls and paper from the printer.
He has already attended a few shows and has done well so far. His first time out he got Best of Variety Kitten Section 4! We were all very proud of him and the judges loved him.
