Vet Visit for Vee

Picture

For some very odd reason, Viktori, after her 2day show experience developed a sickness bug.  She couldn't even keep fluids in and even with some anti emetic drugs, she was still being sick and couldn't keep any food in at all.

We managed her at home for a few hours, then it just got really bad.  She spent 2 days on a drip at the Vets 4 Pets, Sutton Coldfield under the watchful eye of Tudor, her vet.  It was quite a scary time with her being very poorly from Tuesday to Saturday.  Then on the  Sunday it was as though nothing happened and she just bounced back and recovered.

Winner Winner Turkey Dinner

We took Pearl and Viktori to the local 3 day XMAS TICA  event (we managed 2 days due to snow) at Ryton-on-Dunsmore.  The girls did really well, competing against two other Devon Rex in their group and between them coming home with 22 division & colour 1sts and 5 Best of Breeds.  This was actually more than we were expecting from them both.  Pearl behaved impeccably, Vee not so much!

Flairelings Are Born

Picture
Flaire produced 3 big healthy kittens on 9th November.

Both Mum & Kittens are doing well.  There was a small hiccup where she had to be put on a drip for 9hrs but all in all a great delivery and cracking family. with two white girls and a lovely Chocolate boy.  NOV 2017

Ooolala French Kissing!

Flaire went to her boyfriend at Peppadora Palaces in early September and will be expecting a litter in early November.  She has settled very well and is beautifully cared for whilst she stays there.

Barry White is a French Boy and sure wooed our Flaire with his continental ways!

Pet My Cat Day

Picture

We took Cuddly Pearl and Fiesty Viktori to the International Pet Show at Stafford this year to meet and greet the public and show them what a Devon Rex looks like as well as educate people on how to keep them and a little bit about the breed.  Pearl had a super day and really excelled herself on the petting bench, but Viktori, well, lets say she preferred to ride around on my shoulders on her harness rather than being stuck to one place.

They made lots of new friends and met some folks from Facebook too who were very interested to meet them in the flesh and the girls didn't disappoint! At one moment there were 12 or so children sitting on the floor and Pearl was handed around for cuddles. She really enjoyed the fuss and attention. So proud of both of them.  AUG 2017

Five go Glamping Again!

This time it was a trip to West Wales, no show, just fun.  We had a two site stay as the journey is long and the girls spent their time at the first site watching Kites swirl in the sky and the second side, baby lambs prancing about as well as the odd mouse in the hedgerow. They all travel so well and enjoy having visitors.  Again the weather was lovely and warm for us all so lots of outside time and walks.

Five go Glamping

Picture

We have just got back from a weeks holiday in Hampshire.  It wasn't an intentional long stay as we were at the Wessex Cat Club show meeting up with Maisie from Flaire's litter.  The girls all enjoyed it so much that an extra few days were booked during the heat waves.  We had a good shady spot for the worst of the morning sun and then nice walks out in the evening cool with the girls.  June 2017

Lady Grace found her place

Picture
Our dearest beloved Gracie has been either beaten up by the other girls or doing her own fair share of beating.  So after much trying (for over a year) it was decided that no combination was really working and I don't like keeping cats in one room. A beautiful family came forward who are known to the DRX circuit and were searching for a grown baby to love. Gracie lives with Grannie and has these two for company after school. Gracie is in her element, she is very much a ladies cat and as soon as she met Grannie, she honoured her with a lip kiss only reserved for special people. It seems she has her place but is hugely missed by myself because she gives the best love.

2016 Queen Vee to take over KS Blog!

Picture
A new Editor has been chosen to take over the KS Blog - It will be renamed Maystar Blog. Seen through the eyes of a youngster, the Blog will continue to follow the daily life of the pride and provide our followers with continued updates on health and prosperity here at Maystar HQ.

Viktori Vee is the youngest member of the family and it seems fitting she should have a crack at the whip and entertain everyone further as there were too many calls for it not to end.  KS tried his best to update us from the Bridge, but it's a bust celebrity life he leads up there and a King has little time for earthly matters.  Long Live the Queen he shouted over his shoulder as he left us.

2016 King Slinky passes over to Rainbow Bridge

Picture
On the 10th October 2016 we had the very tough decision to have King Slinky put to sleep.  His skin and eyes were so painful with allergy and it seemed that his tummy had begun to perforate inside leading to leaking of his bowel internally.  He had lost interest in food, lost over a kilo in weight and had a massive infection starting inside him. Despite antibiotics and steroids he just didn't pick up as he always had.

We say good bye to an amazing boy who we loved dearly, even though he was a pain to live with. Yawping loudly 24/7 and pink tray antics!  He has touched the hearts of many on both facebook and his blogs.  But he has chosen to remain to comfort those in need like himself and speak to us from Rainbow Bridge.  There will never be another King Slinky.  Unique in every way.

LONG LIVE THE KING
